I was involved in the formative years of NoFit State Circus as a founder-member of the university juggling club that provided fertile ground from which Balls Up, Risky in Pink, and NoFit eventually emerged.
Having performed street shows in the UK and Spain, and with the legendary Balls Up pantomime at Glastonbury, I have long regarded my academic life as an extension of entertainment and improvisation: the audiences and the content of the shows change, but the fundamentals of communication remain.
I have spent the best part of 35 years studying and writing about cars and the car industry, despite being an enthusiastic cyclist, runner, and general sandal-wearing, tree-hugging, vegetarian. I hope that my expertise on sustainability combined with a sympathetic understanding of NoFit State will help with the challenges it faces in bringing circus to diverse communities across and beyond Wales.
